The central pivot point is no coincidence!
The MC series of mowers are fitted with a robust central pivot point, a system that has become ever more popular due to increased working widths and tractor power. Better balanced for a tidy and level mowing pattern
Whilst the central pivot point can give a mower a very large amount of freedom of movement, there are a number of stresses made on the system. On the left-hand side is the mowing unit, which is heavier than the right-hand side due to the weight of the drive system. The pivot point of the arm however, is not in the middle, but at the centre of gravity of the mower. For the perfect balance and a fine, even cutting pattern, MC mowers are not sprung in the middle, but at the centre of gravity. This gives perfect balance and a fine, even cutting pattern.
Twin Pivot ensures perfect ground contour following the arm that supports the mower also has a large effect on its performance. The pivot point of the arm must be close to the mower to prevent the tractor transferring too much movement onto the mower or limiting the mower’s movement on uneven ground. Splendimo mowers use the Twin Pivot point system and the pivot point, with which the arm is linked to the three-way headstock, which is centrally located behind the right-hand rear wheel. Sufficient room and perfect contourfollowing are guaranteed!
Never too heavy or too light ...
In principle, the suspension on the mower and the arm constantly raise up the mowing unit slightly, which relieves the weight of the mower on the ground. The full weight is therefore never carried on the ground. Particularly with soft or wet soil, a ‘heavy’ mower can damage the grass. A too ‘light’ mower can bounce at high forward speeds. The ground pressure of the mower bed must therefore be easily adjustable. That is simply accomplished on all MC mowers by means of a pin-hole setting.
